Welcome

Welcome to the consultation website for the proposed Cegin Energy Storage System. Brockwell Energy is preparing plans for a 99.9 MW battery energy storage system (BESS), to be located on land to the south of the B4547 between Seion and Pentir, within the Llanddeiniolen area of Gwynedd.

We entered a 28-day period of statutory Pre-Application Consultation on 7 February  2025 and intend to submit a planning application to Cyngor Gwynned following its completion.

Our draft plans can be viewed here .

On Tuesday February 18th, we hosted a public consultation webinar to discuss the proposals with local people in greater detail. To watch a recording of the webinar, please click here.

If you have any questions regarding Cegin Energy Storage, please get in touch by emailing info@ceginenergystorage.co.uk; or by posting your comments to Cegin Energy Storage, Freepost – SEC NEWGATE UK LOCAL.

If approved, the Cegin BESS will store clean, renewable energy for export into the national electricity system – powering homes and businesses across the country. The development of new renewable energy sources is a key component of the fight against climate change, and will help to ensure our energy independence at a time of significant international uncertainty.

As part of our planning application, we are also undertaking detailed assessments of important issues, including visual impact, traffic & transport, noise and heritage. Additional information on these assessments is available on the project website, and we look forward to discussing the preliminary results with you at the consultation webinar
